What's wrong with the 7600 in 35 Rem? I'm bringing a 45/70! My 35 Rem is a handfle.

i could bring you a bonafide hog killa. rem 760 6mm with 80 grain winny soft points. pat can verify first hand of the carnige it dished out. them texas hogs are easy to kill. i think dave and i are going to just bring our snub nose 38.

Just back home from the dentist in Edmonton - pulled NINE teeth.
Few more, and some other little work on the 16th, then fitting for partials. Costing me the price of two good rifles, though!
Anyway, what's the deal with FIRE ANTS in TX???!!! I am just now watching a N.G. special on Mineral and Bee County TX. Holy crap are those things wicked!
How bad are they...really?

Yes .223. I don't have it in front of me, but 27.5 grains of Varget is the propellant...I think. It's a good all-around load and it doesn't make much of a mess with varmits, unless you hit heavy bone, then it'll gut 'em.

It's a half grain short of book max and pretty mild. I load a lot of it for other people, especially kids. It's considered magic at my deer lease, proven to be accurate in every rifle so far (super accurate in a couple). It is really impressive what it will do. We haven't recovered one yet.

I picked up a new Robinson Arms XCR-L in 7.62 x 39. Do you think that would be enough? I am ordering the 5.56 barrel conversion for it as well. I like this idea of one gun two cals. Am going to try out my Falcon 1.5 x 5 scope, and maybe my propoint red dot. Decided I am going to bring my 44 puma, and my Shiloh.
As I am going to be down in the south western states in late March, doing a "walkabout", do you think I should add a shotgun of some sorts? Am not really proficient with one, but was wondering about "protection" when around the fifth wheel.

Prolly bounce off 'em.....I'm bringing my .416 Remington as i hear they are tough as hell. My 45/70 with Buffalo Bore 405 gr as a backup!
