Nice. Over the weekend we had a visit from my somewhat long lost father. He happened to bring me a stainless boat paddled Ruger in .223, and since then I have been thinking of bringing that with me for my rifle.
All this danged talked of little TSXs zipping through stuff.....

How many days away is it now??? laugh

Pat or other Texas guys,

May I assume that the May dates will have weather around 70's for the highs and 50s for the lows??

Early season deer hunting type weather or warm, dove hunting season type weather??

Thanks. I need to make sure my son has early season warm weather gear as all he basically has is cold weather gear.

isaac,

I would plan more for high 80's or low 90's during the day, mid 60's to 70 at night.

70's during the day? That's March....early March.

Course this is TX, could freeze like hell, who knows.

Bob, you never know for sure, but it's early for hurricanes and late for snow. The average temp for central Tx that time of year is 74, so with an extreme 30 degree difference you should prepare for low 60's to high 80's. With the lack of humidity in the area, it should be very comfortable.

A jacket? Maybe your shorts and flip flops.

Going to be a great trip, will meet some fine hunters and great people, if we can get them out of jail.

We are going to be lucky, plus night time hunting will be wonderful looking for the old coyote, bobcat etc.

I hear we have the best in Texas varmit caller attending, you know that old boy Greg?

Pat....ever since my son and I lost our favorite place to Anthrax 5 years ago, we've been searching for a new place to renew our Texas deer hunt tradition. Steve_NO and Bart have been great assisting me in my search and now I'm going to have to scout your place for a possibilty, as well. What follows below is a pic of one of the three deer that hang in a corner of my office which were taken on these Texas hunts. This one is the smallest. Suffice it to say I am no longer of counsel to PETA. I think this one ranked barely above average. Can I expect this and larger at your selected ranch?
