I think cash and carry would be prudent while buying from someone who just got out of the hospital.

Seriously, oldman, hope your feeling better. That said....

I need to get my guns from overseas, but they need to go to a good safe. You need to open your safe and take your guns out in order to put my guns in.

I'll hold your guns...

There are some really nice pieces listed here. Prices and pics would go a long way. Also on the terms is there some type of written receipt being given just in case.

Here's a guy on here selling a real nice SAKO 270 rifle, and oldman1942 (the person running this ad) asks him this:

"Interested but could we get additional pics (both sides, close ups of action area (both sides) top & bottom?
Would you sell w/o scope?"

I think if you ask questions like this on someone elses gun (who has pictures already in his ad) you would think oldman1942 would at least have pictures of his guns, if he wants to sell them???? A picture is what sells the gun, or at least interests the buyer.

Please put up some pictures of all your guns. I am interested in seeing pictures of the 30-06 rifles, but without pictures I'll pass. I will also pay 100% infull so you send out the rifle after you receive the money. Good luck.

Quote
Serious sellers have pics and prices available, those looking for a free value estimate don't bother. Notice that the OP has yet to respond to any requests for more info? Seller's remorse at play.

A quote from the moron oldman straight off the ad for the sako 270.

I read your GB ad on the 1903 Springfield Arsenal Sporter in 35 Whelen:

"WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE TO SHIP UNTIL 6/5/2010 This auction has generated so much interest from 03' experts that I think I need to raise the price to reflect its true rarity. The gentleman I bought it from was one of the top 03' collectors in NY. (the other two 03s I have listed also came from his collection) His step-father was a barrel maker at S.A. The buyer will get a COA I will provide with the rifle as well as the money back guarantee. A flat mint rifle that carries the history that it was built for Col Townsend Whelen in HIS caliber the 35 Whelen at the Springfield Arsenal. The barrel is marked 35 Whelen and all other features conform to the NRA Sporter there is nothing "aftermarket" on it, all features check out with every 03' reference in my library except the caliber. I have shot it a few times with cast bullet loads and it is very accurate. Certainly one of of a kind. C&R or FFL required. The latest issue of Guns & Ammo Identification & Values section (7/09) values a standard NRA sporter in 95% condition at $4500. This rifle is 99.9% and a much rarer item. Actually "one of one".Bolt is polished as were some NRA sporters. Bolt is not serialized, only national match rifles ALL were and SOME NRA sporters were also, (see J.C. Harrison book) serial 134400x. bbl date 2/30. This rifle is not and was never an NRA Sporter as it was a special built rifle. Three month layaway available."

What proof, actually documentation, do you have that this rifle was built for Townsend Whelen?

This should be interesting.

Jeff
