Might not have anyting to do wih groups, but ALWAYS take the barreled acton out of the stock and clean the cosmoline out of it. Pull the bolt apart and clean that too. And run a few patches down the bore to make sure it is clean.

Hard to phathom a Tikka that shoots 4 minutes unless something is dreadfully wrong.

I have one in 30-06, it's stainless. I haven't shot it much. My first time out with it with factory core-lokts, it put 3 shots in MOA at 200 yds. I'll have to try it again.

I'm going to get another for my son when he's ready.

something is bad wrong, the first thing I would check is that recoil lug in the stock and make darn sure that is seated properly, then snug the action screws down. these guns do have a 1" guarantee if that doesn't work send it back. so far though I am 3 for 3,

if a guy had 3 grand to spend on a hunting rifle based on a remington 700, sent it off to ANY gunsmith that was known to make accurate rifles. components would include a bedded mcmillian stock, krieger barrel and all the tricks, rifle finished weight would be 7.5# bare. my bet would still be on the tikka to shoot better with random loads.

THis weekend I will pull barrel off and check. The scope was bought new with the gun from dealer. I have not shot the scope on another gun as this is the only rifle I have and also do not own another scope to try. I guess I'll try checking that recoil tab and then shooting it with new mounts if still a problem I will contact the dealer thanx Guys DWG

I've got an older 695 series in 280 that is also a tack driver. Sweet trigger and it has a palm swell that fits me perfectly. Only thing I don't like is the box magazine, but it sure feeds smooth.

If you do, your other rifles won't see much use. wink

Dogcatcher, if you would just ditch that old junky piece of no good glass, for maybe a good early model Tasco pronghorn, I think you might start getting respectable groups from that stick.

You guys are making me weak! I have been lusting after a T3 lite ss in 6.5x55. My T3 hunter in .270 WSM is a tack driver like the ones shown above. May have to sell the WSM and get the 6.5x55.

My 6.5x55 T3 is definitely one of my favorite rifles. It shoots as well as my customs, weighs less, and has really neat looking bullets, LOL.

DWG7: I would double and triple check everything else like the scope and mounts and if it doesn't shoot send it back with the target. I have a T3 in 300 WSM and it shoots sub MOA no matter what I feed it. I can't imagine a T3 not shooting especially in 7mm08. At the very least they will fix what's wrong.
