Hi Kaywoodie: I am still working on smoothbore accuracy...did you experience a profound improvement in fusil accuracy when you added a rear sight? Do you know how I could find John Bergman...who assembled this beautiful gun...so I could get a rear sight added? Also I notice you shot that hog with 60 grains...was that enough or would more be better? Thanks.

I can't answer fro Kaywoodie, but my New England fowler has a rear sight and it definitely helps. Smoothies are weird with a ball. Ask Cap about that, but having a fixed reference point like a rear sight helps. As for powder charge-You just have to experiment to find what charge works best for your smoke belcher.

I just got a Leonard Day 1625 era Dutch bellied trade gun in the mail: smoothbore .62. Doglock. It has a 42" barrel and a rear sight, and in the white. One odd stock which shoulders automatically. The best trigger I've ever found on a flintlock. Also he delivered it precisely on the day promised, which in the custom flintlock business is unheard of. I will shoot it tomorrow and get back with a full review. Wonderful.
