Scott, It took me awhile to get over the "its only a .22" syndrome and now, for me, it is ok to spend a lot of money on a .22. It is the rifle I'll shoot the most, other than my pellet gun. It will also be my most custom gun with a very good scope, good smithing and a very dressy stock. The rifle will be too heavy for carrying around much but it will be a flashy shooter. Good luck in your search.pak

pak,
For a long time, the most expensive gun I owned was a .22(An Anshutz match rifle) so I'm no stranger to putting big bucks into little bores. I just got used to paying wholesale though. Luckily enough, I found an ad in Shotgun News last night for a nearby dealer that will do cost+10% on special orders.
Good luck with your rifle. Also, here's some information on a very well regarded 52 smith. He is also a trigger manufacturer. The only problem is that he primarily works on target rifles, so he may not make a sporter weight trigger.

I think I've tried every kind of .22 there is(Ans.164,141,54 - Rem.541's-Win 52's-Kimber's-Kleinguenther's and a whole lot more),and for my money you can't beat the CZ's.I now have 3 of the 200$ "specials" and 1 "classic".All of them will shoot under 1/2" at 50 yrds. One of the specials that I have is the most consistantly accurate sporter I've ever owned.I've never owned a Sako, but from all reports they are very accurate.

For those that know about the Top Gun Challeng at Ft. Polk the match is a triatholon of Metallic Silhouetts, Bull's Eye and the Black Death Target. It is extreamly difficult and low scores are the norm. When the dust cleared for two years the CZ-452 beat all other rifles above, along with two out of three records on the Black death target. That's right out of the box. some times it ain't the arrow its the indian.
