Both are .223 - Love those rifles. Makes me wonder how I got by for so long with a bolt gun for coyotes.

Thanks for the kind words guys.

As to the porcupine. I had been at my taxidermist's shop about a week before I encountered this critter. He had a porcupine that he had just finished. I remarked to him that I really liked it and the next time I had an opportunity to take one I would. When I hunted in Rocksprings, Tx. we used to see them all the time. That was in 2000. I've hunted 3 other places since then and this is the first one I'd seen in 8 or 8 years. He was walking across the road when I spied him. By time I got stopped and got out of the truck he'd made it across the road and up into a tree. I had my Tarus snubbie in 44 special, loaded with hard cast lead bullets on my hip and nailed him with that. Hard to believe, hadn't seen one in years, saw one at the taxidermist shop and nailed this one a week later. His assistant is still cussin'me.

Also, here are a few more of my varmint rigs.
