Try the Snow, Myrtle and Bell creek drainages. It is thick country but I have seen bears in open areas around there. Beware of the bigger bears though.
Note: I have never hunted this area: just been there goofing off.

I flew near the area this past week. There is still some snow in the higher elevations. There should be very little snow down low around the lake. Watch out for the grizzly's in the area. Shooting one after mistaking it for a blackie could get very problematic.

Please God, give me some good tags this year....

It has been slow around Coeur d alene area to. I have gone out to places were i usually see bears and havnt seen any. I was thinking because of this warm weather that things would start happening a little earlier than usual but its not looking like it. its still fun just to be out thier though.

Idahostalker, Have you noticed that we don't have near the numbers of turkeys as the prior years? I think the last two winters, with the exception of this one, have killed quite a few. Either that or spring rains. Where I hunt, I am not seeing near the numbers of birds as previously.
