Thanks, Gary

In order, my top 4 (in both my CZ and Marlin 882ss)
Winchester 34gr Supreme
Winchester 40gr SuperX
Remington 33gr Premier
Federal 50gr

Surprisingly accurate but cheap wmr ammo... Fiocchi 40gr.

Heh! Great post! I just put a CZ 452 American 22WMR on layaway at one of the local money pits. This will be my first 22Mag rifle. So, I've been doing a little researching to determine what the best suspects are for good shooting ammo, and the boys over on RFC would second levrluvr's picks. Fortunately, the two Winchester loads are plentiful around here, at this time. No Remingtons in sight. There are some CCI MaxiMags, or whatever they are called, around as well. Now if I can decide on a scope! Tough decision, but may just go for the Leupold VX-II 3x9 EFR and be done with it.

452 FS .22 mag that shoots Armscor HP's best. Tried Rem and Win, not as accurate results.

In rifles, I've generally had best luck with the CCI Maxi Mag +V most often, probably WW's 40 grain HP second. Every load I've tried shot best in some gun or other.

Single shot pistols generally mimic the rifles. Closed breech maybe being more important than barrel length? A SWAG.

In revolvers more often than not the CCI standard 40 grain HP load is better than any other. The WW 40 grain HP is next most likely to shoot well.

My current Single Six is the only revolver I've had that shot the Maxi Mag +V load well ... and that's its best load. Go figure, huh?

The only reliable approach is to go buy a box of every possible load you can lay hands on, shoot a couple groups with each under controlled conditions, measure, compare, and then decide what to stock up on based on empirical results rather than spending first and hoping reality matches theory.

My CZ 452 has liked the Hornady 30 Grain V-Max best, so far. The CCI with the same bullet was quite a bit less accurate. Winchester 30 Grain JHP was worse yet. These were at 100 yards & just shooting between centerfires cooling down. I really need to take some time and do some more careful shooting at 50 yards, but the Hornady stuff was clearly the winner at 100 yards in this particular rifle.

My scope is a Weaver V4-16 that I had laying around. A little big, but thought I'd try that first and hopefully see what it is capable of. I'll let you know the results.
thanks, Gary

Every gun is going to be different. Being a rimfire, I'd suggest buying a box of every different load you can find and testing them out. You could spend money on a lot of dumber things IMO, plus this way yo u get to shoot more.

They say everything happens for a reason.
For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.
