Its all good man, some manufacturers make lots of good ones and some bad ones, and some manufacturers make lots of bad ones and some good ones, as long as a guy ends up with one of the good ones, no matter the brand........thats all that matters!

That said the most reliable refuse to die vehicle I have ever owned, and still own, is a 1975 1/2 ton International with a 345 V8. The odometer broke at 642,XXX. International was THE heavy duty, for thase that used them, before the city folks made the HD badge popular.

Hey my truck has a 345 V8! grin

I had a dodge, worst truck ive owned so far. After 100K it was a never ending battle of fixing stuff. I destroyed the whole front end, ball joints, uppers and lowers, tie rods, axles, ect... I love the look of them but just didnt hold up for me. I bought a new truck 2 years ago, I was very interested in a new ram, but bought a sierra instead. With my job now i dont drive much, ive got 47,000 on it so far and have had a few small things go bad but nothing major. I tow a 20' boat on average twice a week. I really like the ram 2500 hd's with a desiel, but with the cost of desiel fuel these days I wont give up my true 21-22 mpg hwy on my full size. My truck has a 310hp aluminum block v8. Last week I trip from rockland county ny to longisland ny, averaged 22 mpg on the dot doing 65mph the whole way with a 17' canoe and camping+fishing gear in the back.

Can't say I care for the new Dodge or the Ford either. Kinda ugly the both of them. I can say that I just sold my 1988 GMC 3/4 ton 4x4 that I threw everything Montana can do to a truck. 267,000 miles and the guy drove it away. I just upgraded to a 2003 GMC, as a new one is not in the cards. mtmuley

Hmm, 190k on my 4X4 Cummins and I've replaced the shocks. No other suspension or steering parts. How did you do that?

I just bought a lease return 08,3rd generation, 1ton Dodge/Cummins. Warranty records show two engine controlers,(he could have blown them when he used his truck for a equipment jumper, the battery terminals are pretty roughed up) and at the dealer when I got it, an O2 sensor. Both are not uncommon on the 08.

The 4th generation Ram,2010, is very good looking, maybe even better than the '39.The new F-150 is good looking ,by far their best effort since the '52.

I just got back from a week holidays in the backcountry.I was truly amazed at just how well it handled on gravel .This huge truck,a long box Quad Cab, was nimble,I could place her exactly where I wanted her. As a tow vehicle on the highway getting there, it was effortless. And I could boast about the mileage.Besides, the seats are Volvo like comfortable, great for distances.

Sounds like the one and only Chevy I ever had. There won't be a next that is newer than 1966

My 99 dodge diesel is 2wd. All the front end parts are original except the shocks which I've replaced twice. It's got 366K miles on it now. You can't tell me that dodge makes a crap truck and retain any credibility in my eyes. I've got too much butt time in the seat of one to believe that.
