For me, I think you're 100% correct. I have to go to two outdoor functions this weekend and Deet will definitely be in my truck for back-up.

Les...perhaps I'm coming across a bit hyperbolic but I'm not that bad off, man. It's just that these 6 bites are about the size of grapes now and have a formed scab at the middle tip and still itch like a summabich. I don't recall my previous chigger nightmare being like this but, it was Texas. Could it be some type of flea or something called a Midge?

Nope, I am telling ya, I got the little buggers down at Hood, and my nuts did, they swelled up like grapefruits, I tried to get my buddy to take a picture for posterity. Sean's methods do work, seriously.

Pat...don't know if it was that still hunt and setting in a
the dry gravel bed and high grass behind that foreman's house down off the river or if they got inside the cabin and got me while I was sleeping.

Heck if I really know. I never felt the sting and I was stone cold sober.Hmmm...maybe I'm now on to something.

It's just 6 bites,man. 6 big, weird ones

Not a one. But, they were all in a place where I didn't spray on any Deet, that I do know.

Lt...are you messing with me?

Get a q-tip and dip it in ammonia, then gently roll it over the chiggers... Repeat as necessary and they'll be gone in a day...

That thought has passed through my mind a bunch the last couple days. Deet on my skin and permethrin sprayed long sleeve shirts, pants and hat,for me.

I really think the insects came up my pants leg and openings in my short sleeve safari shirt I was testing out. Only sprayed a bit up from my socks and my arms up to the short sleeve. I learned a lesson.

I've been researching a bit. Could it be deer fly bites? Looks like they could be.

You KNOW when a deer fly bites, since you didn't feel anything and from the general description I would think it was from a Recluse spider, very active at night and you never feel it.

You best go to the doctor.

No. Deer flys hurt like the dickens when they bite.

I saw that grotesque recluse pic straight away. It might have worked on Les, though. I also know you well enough!
