Start at 55 gr of H322. You should max out after 4 or 5 grains, at 2100 fps+.

FWIW---noslers shooter proshop has the 300 grain ballistic tip on sale as 2nds. They have a bunch other good bullets there now too. I never saw a "ballistic tip" 45-70 so I had to order a bag along with a bunch of other fun stuff. 70 grain 6mm ballistic tips at $15/100 were also on the menu...time to dust off my 243 ruger varmiter. The 300 grain "ballistic tips" will go to my marlin 45-70 and contender 45-70.
