Q: What's the difference between JasonB's brother's coffee shop and the comment on 1964 legislation from Rand Paul that liberals are all up in arms about?

yeah, archer, they have the RIGHT to do it. they also have the right NOT to be a-holes, and chose not to do that. we're all free to express, so nothing wrong with what we're saying either. kinda like with the Dixie Chicks. sure, they're free to be ignorant *$#%'s, but when they chose to do so, they got the economic backlash for it. it happens

What kind of man admits to going to a "Vegan Coffee Shop", I mean seriously.
Anyhow, its discrimination, just like it would be if he were black, gay, jew, wetback, or other. Dont know what the laws are there but here a private business has the rigth to refuse service to anyone. Seems kinda silly but that the way it goes.

When I first heard this story on FOX this morning, my immediate thoughts were - JasonB must own a coffee shop in Portland..
What an a-hole this dude is.. Yeah, if a crime's goin' on there and the fool calls the cops, they should reply, 'sorry, do you remember you asked us to leave? We're going to honor your request and not come to your shop.. Good luck with the robbery/mugging/whatever..!'

Some take pride in their job. I agree. The few Portland cops I've run across have been good examples of their profession. I can't say that for some of the Portland suburbs.

Been all over the news and radio the last couple days. Have to go on a business trip tomorrow. After I get back I'm thinking of seeing if I can organize a 'non-violent civil disobedience' thing.
Get a bunch of my buddies and similar type persons. Have them dress in patriotic wear, NRA caps, etc... Go into the joint and take all the available seats and start reading National Review, The National Review, etc., and just sit there.
When they ask us to leave, tell them politely that we will if the police ask us too. Make sure that the local media is invited and that we have a few camcorders running.
Wadda ya think?
