Well I kept gettin' madder....got up early this A.M. and checked the tracks east of us half mile and determined that they did not take the swather north so it was almost assured they crossed the Red River with it into Texas. Our county S.O. would not get this properly reported for about 24 more hours due to work load and they definitely would not be looking in Texas and I kept gettin' madder and after talking to some of the neighbors I had a lead and a strong hunch. There is an auction facility in Seymour Tx. and that has consignments of farm stuff all through the year and alot of the older and sometimes junky stuff is bought pretty cheaply by some fellas out of Mexico, so much in fact that they have regular semi-truck runs hauling their purchases back. After the third neighbor came by and mentioned these Mexicans driving up through our part of Oklahoma looking to purchase equipment to fill out loads I crossed the Red River and started driving farm market roads on my way to Seymour. Teri thought I was crazy when I called and told her where I was going (when I should have been packing for gunsmith classes Monday morning) but she told me to humor myself "for my peace of mind" and be careful. I didn't make it to Seymour and the Mexican fellas didn't take it but I spotted it at an old abandoned farm just south of Holiday Texas just off of hwy. 277. Got well heeled and walked in and verified it was mine and have been with dang near all of the law enforcement in that county for the rest of this day. Turns out they wanted to jail the guy that owned this place real bad but have never been able to get the goods on him to make it stick. They crossed their T's and dotted their I's and went into the place with a proper warrant hanging on the fence. Along with my swather they found two trailers saddles fourteen head of stolen fresh branded cattle and more evidence to link them to the theft of a large lot of baling twine worth a few thousand dollars and a portable welder.
I,m pretty tired now but Teri insists I go up the road to the casino because she thinks my luck is still running hot.

I even got to drag my swather home!

My Compliments on your success.

This sort of nonsense has become endemic here too.

Do you think the auction outfit's on the up and up ?

Made my frikken day,Dana. Now you get to be a star witness as that guy pleads or is found guilty and goes inside for at least 2 years.

Probably on the up and up Greg but the idea that they might not be at least sent me in the right direction.

Great news okie!!!! When they are done prosecuting the crook you can grease the swather with him. It only takes one as long as you run him through slow enough..... damn scum.

Wish you and teri okie could make it up this weekend! You 2 are dang fine people!
