byc may finally learn how to shoot a gun now. Unless that's your real child, which it could be, first thing I am going to shoot is your avatar!

"You'll like him." My sister used a similar sentence 50+ years ago when she was trying to hook me up with one of her girl friends!
As they say at the movie theatre, Run, do not walk to the nearest exit. Hey, that isn't always the case. My best friend tried to hook me up on a blind date, he told me I would like her. I fought it and fought it, then gave in...well, what showed up wasn't half bad.

Never figured how others know that you'll like someone. Gal friend of mine wanted me to met a gal friends husband, said I'd really like him.
Not a bad guy but anymore I find myself at a loss with a guy that doesn't hunt/fish/shoot. Guessing I ain't the only one. Someone that doesn't has something wrong with them mentally physically or both!

My sister hit me up with this last week. New boyfriend she says. Being that she just got divorced I wasn't real wild about meeting him. She replied with: "BUT you're really going to like him." "Why?" I replied. "Because he owns a pawn/gunsmith shop with an FFL and indoor range" she says. Having dinner this week. Let us know if he actually cuts you a good deal on anything.

I already said I don't dislike the guy, just don't have much to talk to him about. A man that doesn't hunt/fish/shoot is a bit odd to me.
I don't trust a guy that won't drop a cuss word now and then nor sip a beer/cocktail on occasion (not counting ex-drunks).

Actually, I suppose I should set my priorities correctly. First he'd better be good to my sister as she's a gem. THEN good deals!!!!!!

She'll hate him thas all good, as long as she keeps him around long enough for her brother to either bond or at least get a good deal on a .45/70 and a bigger gun safe

my friends are my friends because i choose them as friends...
i know, and like, or at least get along with a bunch of guys in work or social situations... but they aren't necessarily "friends" in my acceptance of the term...
i only have 5 of what i consider friends still living...
i'm 52... B** is 78 and i've known him for almost 50 years now... been true friends since 1979 R*** is 55 and i've known him since 1977... been true friends nearly all of that time.. M** is 46 and i've known him since 1989... been true friends for about 15 years... j** is 47, and i've known him since 1986... been true friends since day one, but we actually met while hunting... B**** is 48 and i've known him since 2003... been true friends since 2004...
every one has expressed, in different ways, that, a) i'm not the easiest to get along with all of the time... & b) i can be louder and pushier than what they think that i have to...
in general, i agree with them and am thankful for the 5 that i have.....

My daughter gave me the same line, with the additional info that he was a cowboy. After seeing too may wanna-bees, I knew it'd be a flop.
Turns out he's a rancher/outfitter and had more guns than me. Also invited me and my son hunting on his lease. We hit it off so well it might have been the reason they split. So well that I started working for him, going on 10 yrs now, was my best man and best friend from the git-go
