Man, that is cool. You are the new champ for stupidest person at the campfire. Congratulations.

PS. Who is Brad? You're giving him a pretty close run for second in another thread.

Charlie, I take it you have never read anything about the industrialists of the 1800's.
Compared to the 1800's industrialists, today's industrialists are pikers.
You talking about copper mines...striking miners...tent cities...national guard...massacres maybe? I did see alla John Wayne's movies though.
The end of democracy, and the defeat of the American Revolution will occur when government falls into the hands of lending institutions and moneyed incorporations.

Tell us Charlie, what you are doing to lessen this oil spill crisis.
Anything?

Ya know I do believe some here would rather see BP dig in their heels and lawyer up and go the Exxon way. Well for those of ya FO.

Anyone who believes this wasn't an accident is an imbecile.

If my company had already stated we were going to pay claims and were working on it (and what company keeps the necessary infrastructure on hand to process all these cliams?) and was limited by law to $75 million and then they tried to put the squeeze on me for $20billion and another $100 million for the out of work oil workers....I might lawyer up as well.
A lot of people are playing if's and but's too early in the ballgame.

quote: Some have questioned Obama's constitutional authority to demand that a foreign corporation (or a domestic one, for that matter) defer paying dividends and instead use its resources to create a fund that may vastly exceed its actual legal liabilities, as yet unknown. Certainly the President has no constitutional authority to force any such thing, but there is no law that prevents him from arm-twisting.
Not only the foreign company part, but I believe the rig is in international waters, putting it further in question.
I believe the escrow account is going to backfire on Obama. The damage compensation will soon become the most contentious part of this. bp was smart to get shed of it.

I'm predicting an independent counsel by next fall investigating the payment of the funds from the escrow account by Obama's man.
What Democrat, much less a Chicago thug, could resist dipping into a $20 billion slush fund which has no set purpose?
The slush fund isn't going to pay claims.. BP is still doing that with it's own money.

Man, I think Charlie is about to break out singing Joe Hill, or the Internationale.
Proudly representing oil companies, defense contractors, and firearms manufacturers since 1980. Because merchants of death need lawyers, too.
