For this neck of the woods, it's pretty hard to beat this combo in 308.

That's a nice looking rig SC, now just matte finish it all and remove the sights and it'll be model perfecto for me...grin

Bet she shoots well..

Way too many "favorites" to pick just one..........

My favorite for the longest:

It's the rifle in the foreground, a Sako FiberClass 270 WIn

Below, three of my current favorites, (at least for this week):

L to R

A Rem KS in 270 Win., a Rem Ti in 7-08, & a Rem MR, faux Ti in 280 Rem

In truth, what one will do, so will the others.............

This wild Dog decided my son could be tasty, bad move. He started to move in at a pace on him, at 90 yards I ended it.

That was my grandfather's rifle, so it's a keeper for sure. Waaaaay back when, I shot my first deer with it.

I likes 180gr Hornadys. Kinda slow with the big bullets from a Carbine 308, but it sure does trouble to deer.

I like Mausers for hunting rifles. The extractor means business!
The top rifle is an FN Mauser 30-06 sold by JC Higgins.
The second is a Belgian Browning Safari 30-06.
The bottom is an old MK X Mauser 30-06 made in Czechoslovakia.
The rifles are not afraid to get scratched up, it looks good on the resume!

Thanks,340!
I admit I have been pretty pleased with it, especially since I put that McMillan on there. Shoots much better now than it did with the factory stock.
I am also exceedingly pleased with how well it shoots the 130gr partition. Load development for that rifle is a thing of the past, methinks.
cool

This one worked "perfect" for me on two species (not sure that that counts as "all around") last fall grin

.300 Weatherby Ultra Light, 180 grain Accubonds (3,180 fps).
