I am running low on my 1962 mfg Lake City Match M72, .30-06 GOV'T ammo. Does anyone know the recipe? I have plenty of the 173 grain FMJ/BT bullets and a decent amount of LC Match brass, just need to know the powder type and charge. The box lists the load as being 2640 fps. I am hoping it is a still being made powder like IMR4064 or IMR4895. Thanks!

Pull and weigh a couple of charges. It will be about 46.0gr. You will find that amount of IMR4895 and a 173gr. bullet will give truly excellent results in a .30-06.

Thanks MichiganScott (and 65x54 who sent me a PM): I just found this chart on the internet, might be handy to you guys as well. Of course the old WWII IMR4895 was not the exact same as today's Canadian made IMR4895, so the usual warnings apply. I am just shooting for fun with an old 03A3, but it sure loves that 1962 Lake City Match load.
