I could be wrong but I think today's Gunships such as the AC130, no longer uses the 7.62mm mini because they operate so far away from the targets - well out of the range of the 7.62 --Web

When I was in California I had cause to work at Lockheeds site on a small field in Pedley (I think it was)from time to time. The strip was so small they had to close a road to land and takeoff.
I met the director of Gunship Operations and he had one of his people give me a tour.
He/they were real proud of their ships.

The type of M2's Shreriff Joe needs are Bradley's! About a platoons worth. 25mm would be much better than the 50 cal. I do not know what a 25mm or 30mm sounds like but if you have ever heard a 50BMG they sound like a pissed off hornet on steriods and 500 to 700 per minute would scare the Bagesses out of anybody GO Shriff Joe

The biggest thing that the Cartels/Mexico Government drives into the USA is Hummers, correct? If Joe wanted to stop them, wouldn't a 50 cal BMG be enough?

He runs a 20" tube and still has problems with overpenetration. Pic is my daughter ( a couple of years ago ) posing during a break at an annual picnic. The same guy owns a Mag 58, supposedly one of 6 in civilian hands.
