"Boiler"- What I have been working on / in for the past 25 yrs.
"pig" - because I have been "rooting" around in boilers for the past 25 yrs. Never bothered me to get a little dirty.
"1" - because I am only one of three remaining boilerpigs.
Boggy - Great story! I spent a lot of time around San Augustine as kid. But when I was there they already had the fences. But most land owners never cared if you hunted or fished their lands if you treated it as your own.

I am AvAgadro ... not to be confused with the one of the famous scientists of all times AvOgadro. Ok it was actually confusion.
Back in freshman chemistry we had an exam and I scored a 99/100 on it .. we had a question on that exam which required us to write Avogadro's name, we (all but one person in the class spelled it Avagadro ... because that is how the prof put it up on the board ... or at least his "o" looked a lot like an "a". Those of us who spelled it wrong lost a point on the exam ... couldn't get that darn point back to save my life .... and caught a lotta grief for it from my friends ... kinda like an inside joke!!
Well my friend Steve just got online about a year afterwards ... around 1995 or 1996 .. we were looking around on the web and he showed me a chat room (Yahoo! Chat to be precise) ... So I went to log on as Avogadro, and he gave me a rash of [bleep] for being a nerd ... so I changed it to Avagadro and we had a good laugh about it. So I just use Avagadro ... every now and then someone has to tell me I mispelled ... I tell them they're wrong. Its spelled just the way its supposed to be!!!
Boggy ... boy am I feeling stupid ... for the longest time I read your handle and thought it said "Boggy Creek RANCHER" .... I know better now!... BTW Great story. I can remember the days when I was a kid and it was nothing to walk down the street with our BB guns (& later 22's) and nothing was said. I remeber stories my grandfather told me when he was a kid ... road the trolley outta town on Saturday morning with shotgun in tow ... came home in the evening with same shotgun and 10 rabbits (dinner for the week during the depression). And this was normal. I always tell Sara how cool it would be to have lived back then ... at least as a child!

I have collected coins for many years and my CB radio (remember the CB fad?) handle in the 1970s was Silver Dollar. I graduated high school in 1978.
When I decided I needed a new "handle" for the internet age, I just combined the two items. Nothing fancy - seems to work OK for me.

The name comes from my interest in North American Bighorn sheep, both the Rocky Mountain and Desert variety.
I'd rather be a free man in my grave, than living as a puppet or a slave....

Skalkaho is the name of a crick (not a "creek") and a pass in the Sapphire Mountains on the east side of the Bitterroot Valley in western Montana. Although I've spent most of my life in central and northern Arizona, I'm a native Bitterrooter, and I really miss Montana.
To me, "Skalkaho" just has a ring to it.

I killed my first bull elk and my buddies hung that nickname on me. It's easy to spell, too.

Mine is what I have done for a job for the last 18 years , 363 days/yr. I take the place of the 24 hr watchman. I artificially inseminate bovines (cattle). Hence the bull.

batch is much easier than batchelder, the rest of my name. Ever since I went public, i.e. started school, no one could get my name right so it's always been batch; shorter to write and easier to spell. batch

I came over in the Shooters exodus, and brought the handle with me.
The "Stars & Bars" was the First National Flag of the Confederate States of America. It is Not the Battle Flag (which is the crossed "X" flag that most folks think of as "the confederate flag"), but rather is similar in appearance to the federal Stars & Stripes, except the stripes are fewer and very wide and thus called "bars".
I adhere to the Strict Constructionist interpretation of the Constitution (i.e. I believe it means what it says), including the States Rights guaranteed by the 10th Amendment, of which the Confederacy attempted to defend, so chose the flag as my handle. I hope that federal disregard for the 2nd Amendment won't ever get to the point where this union of States finds itself again in a similar situation.

It's what I am...what I do. Been a Coast Guardsman for almost 26 years and I still love it. When I don't I'll go. But I'll always be a Chief. It was hard earned.

A guy at work started callin my bike I rode a Suicycle, instead of motorcycle. Kind of fitting. 180 HP at the rear tire and 380 lbs dry wt. It is kind of spirited to ride.
Same handle at several spots, just somebody got it ahead of me for email
What does it mean when the primers fall out of the case?

The name was given to me 30 years ago by my high school calculus teacher/scoutmaster after a 70 mile Grand Canyon hike. Some days became a race to a couple of us wanting to reach our destination before the December sun vanished over the rim. And I have red hair (or should that be hare?).

Took up playing the resonator guitar (aka "dobro") several years back - thus "picks a reso".
My picking sucks and I shoot a Sucks.
Guns are like guitars - you can never have too many.

"Howdy, Cat in the hat! " is what my buddy used to say whenever he came over for coffee or supper. When he got my computer hooked up to the internet it just kinda stuck.
On benchrest central I go by myreal name, because target shooting is a very serious thing for me, and i really would rather people know who they are talking to sometimes.
Nicknames can be strange things, I guess. I recently showed up at a black powder shoot after a very long(years) hiatus. Most treated me like a Pilgrim (newby) , mainly becuase they weren't around when I was shooting! Some guy asked me my name and I told him. He asked me what I was known as and I sid "Bushwjacker". He said "oh, no you can't use that mane , So and so has that name already!" "So and So was in diapers when I was give\n that handle by two guys that I had tarcked a moose for , ya young whippersnapper, and you weren't even around when I was shooting this stuff!" Kinda wrecked my day, so I don't like "Handles" a lot. Just use them on here 'cause I'm too lazy to change everything! Catnthehat
