The wife and I both drew bull tags that we have been putting in for for some time. She still wants to shoot her 7mm-08. Any thoughts on a good choice of bullets? Recoil is an issue so I am wanting to stay in the 140 range. Thinking 140g Partitions may be the answer but want to hear other thoughts.

I like any of those bullets no doubt...
140 TSX or TTSX would be fine with me!

Can't imagine a 140 partition not being up to the task..

Before I knew that elk could not be killed with out at the very least a premium bullet and better yet a mono metal bullet I shot 154 Hornady interlocks out of a 7 mag and stacked up a lot of elk without a problem (acutely a few where tooooooooo far from the road, not the bullets fault). The partition will work fine as will most any hunting bullet.

154 grain Hornady. It's powerful medicine on elk!

Shoot whatever shoots best. Elk die when shot through the lungs....contrary to some thoughts I have heard lately.

Never used a 708, but the 154 hornady inteloc in the 7x57 is an elk killer deluxe.
the most expensive bullet there is isn't worth a plug nickel if it don't go where its supposed to. www.historicshooting.com

I shot my bull with a 7mm-08 140 Barnes XLC, bullet went thru both shoulders and out the other side, Im sure a TSX would have the same performance.
