I've just heard a lot of folks that seem to like that stock but I wondered if there was any reason other than aesthetics... Aesthetics? Not in that stock.

I will trade anybody straight up for a boat paddle stock that fits my 280. I have the later version of the MK II synthetic which I do not like. I have killed a bunch of critters with it however.

I have a 260 in that configuration. I do not see what people like about the stock either. Am awaiting the day when I find an available SA Ruger laminate to replace it with.
I am almost convinced that I will have to buy a stainless/laminate 243 for the stock and then give the 243 away with the boat paddle attached. Have TWO of the same rifle...both wear Boyd's Laminates.. currently $92.00 plus delivery..one gray and one brown.. so I could quit having to swap the stocks off of my Ruger Stainless Laminate 243s all the time..

Came across one in 338 today. Anyone out there like to buy, let me know.

I like them. They are very accurate rifles based on the three that I own in 223,243 and 7mm RM. Anyone that would be interested in selling a ss 77/22 in the boat paddle or 260, please PM me.

I agree - mine are accurate as well. Ruger MKII .338 Win Mag and Ruger #1 in .280 Rem. Ruger MKII in .300WM (top) and .30-06 (bottom): Scope check target from the .338 Win Mag: And one from the .300 Win Mag (1st shot from a clean/oiled bore):
Coyote Hunter - NRA Patriot Life, NRA Whittington Center Life, GOA, DAD - and I VOTE!
No, I'm not a Ruger bigot - just an unabashed fan of their revolvers, M77's and #1's.
A good .30-06 is a 99% solution.
