im tryin to work up a decent load for my mod 7 in 350 mag thats a little heavier then what im using now (200 gr horn. RN). im trying to decide between the 225gr woodleigh RN or the 250gr hornady RN....ill be using it on whitetails, blackbear and moose....the price isnt swaying me one way or the other. any performance based info would be greatly appreciated. ide like to push either of these two at about 2500fps so expansion and penetration are my two biggest concerns, mostly expansion w/ the hornady bullet.

If it were me, I'd load 225/250 Partitions over some Re 15. I had an Encore pistol that really liked AA 2520 over a 225 BT.

Well, I have a Rem Custom shop Model 7 in .350 mag. I am using 60.0 grains of R15 and 225 grain Woodleighs. I also use Fed 210M primers. This is a hot load. I am getting over 2600 fps. I plan on backing down to 59.0 grains, which will still give me 2600 with safer pressure. I have found Woodleighs to be a very accurate bullet. I have not taken a black bear yet, but I have shot numerous whitetails and hogs with it. Hope to get a black bear one of these days on my lease.

Another option is TAC. 56 grains should give you 2500 fps, and you can try up to 58 grains to hit 2600 fps.

I have to load to 2.80", and powder capacity is not an issue with R15. TAC will not be an issue at all getting it in the case. FWIW, Quickload shows a bit lower pressure with R15 over TAC. YMMV. Work up slow...yada, yada...

Recommended impact velocity for the Woodleighs is 2500 to 1800 fps.

Old thread with some good info.

Currently working with TAC and 200 TSX's Barnes manual states 58gr TAC for 2726 and 64gr for 2943- smokin! I've worked up to 63 and all is good so far.

Recovered bullets? Bahahahahhhaahahaha. I shot an 8 point quartering to me chasing a doe a couple of years ago. Hit him in front of the right shoulder, exit caught the front of the left ham. That was my best opportunity to find a bullet, but I think it is still traveling.

~3600 with 60grains of R15.

A short COAL will increase pressure because of less case volume (thanks again TOAD). Magazine constraints require a 2.80 cartridge in my Mod 7.

No flies on the 250gr Hornady RN. Speer 250's work just fine, too.

225 Partitions with IMR4895 works best for me, accuracy wise, in the 350RM. That Woodleigh RN should be a thumper! cool
