I was in a gun store and they had a Savage Weather Warrior rifle with the Savage P.A.D. recoil pad but the edges of the pad did not seem attached to the rifle. You could twist the pad away from the stock and see a gap. The pad was still connected in the middle of the stock. I asked the clerk if the pad was attached properly but he didn't know. Anyone have an idea if this is right?

if this is the same pad they use on their slug gun then yes that is correct i beleive they are installed by pushing them into a hollow cavity in the butt of the stock
