In the spring, look for sales in blaze orange. Our deer season is in Dec each year. A few years back, I found a 3X camo blaze orange heavy coat for a super cheap price. Around $20 IIRC. I wasn't even thinking coat. I hunt from a a wooden stand and always keep extra vests in the stand. I wear it just a few days each year. Good luck.

I searched around quite a bit for a blaze orange vest and found that Red Head make a pretty nice blaze orange fleece for a reasonable price

All my outerwear is good quality orange camo, but I still keep a couple of the cheap orange vests handy just in case. I have gotten to the point I've got most weather covered. I have an orange flannel shirt for warmer weather, and orange camo hooded sweatshirt for cool weather, and the heavy stuff for when it gets cold. 'Still hunting in jeans with long johns underneath, but thinking the time has come to get a good set of hunting pants. That wind can get chilly on yer backside when up on a portable tree stand all day.

Thats for all the recommendations. I will look for a nice blaze orange vest.
I have also always hunted in Jeans, with wool pants over them when it gets cold. Like gophergunner I would like to find something more windproof and less restricting. I have heard alot of good things about Cabelas Microtex. Are they pretty windproof?

If you're looking to get a Blaze vest get one of these. I started a thread a month or so ago and someone recommended one of these LL Bean vests. I actually purchased 2, an Under Armor one and the LL Bean. I prefer the LL Bean one and it was less expensive, plus they have free shipping right now. I bought my regular size and I have room for a coat underneath, Highly recommended, especially for the price and free shipping! http://www.llbean.com/llb/shop/14037?feat=506557-GN2BTW, the LL Bean is made of "ten-mile cloth acrylic" which is what the Filson one is made of as well.
