Rob,
I have been using Boyt soft cases for a lot of years, and I have a selection hanging on one garage wall. You can spend a lot of money on these, but the Boyt cost vs. benefit comparison works for me. I used to live in Filson Country and shop at their factory store, but even then I did not buy their cases.
When I hit a Cabelas store I always check the sale area for any cases I might "need", even if they say Browning or something else on the outside.

I have four Duluth rifle cases, and found them to be the best made.

How much do those allen cases run? $45-50 from Midway or Natchez Shooters Supply. Believe Midway has a few on sale right now.
I never thought I'd grow up to be a grumpy old man, but I did, and I'm killin' it.

The Duluth cases are not water resistant like the Frost River cases.

Be careful shooting out the window can get you in trouble.

Rob, Is there a particular reason why you want canvas? The traditional slips look very nice, but for out and out protection, I'd consider one of the semi rigid synthetic slips along the lines of the Napier Razorback below: These give far more protection than a traditional slip and are the sort of thing that are right at home roughing it in a hunting truck..

The am looking for a canvas one because I like the looks and styling of them...little more western/traditional looking I guess.
