Jorge,
I understand the three rifle conundrum. The Sabbati is beautiful The 450NE double and the 1895 lever in 405Win are the easy picks. I think that if you take the pre 64 M70 Winchester in 375 H&H you will have some overlap with the 405. If the choice were mine, I would take a pre 64 M70 Winchester in 30-06 or 300 H&H magnum. Teddy Roosevelt would have picked the 30-06, John Taylor the 300 H&H. Heavy, medium and light, you have it all covered. Let us know what you decide.

Just some feedback on the Sabatti. I went to Zimbabwe with a client for Cape Buffao this past September. Prior to going he bought a Sabatti from Cabela's in .500. He shot a nice buff with it during the safari. The gun worked flawlessly and the concensus by the PH, (who was shooting a Westley Richards double) and others in camp, could not believe you could get a double in this quality for the money. I have it here at my place now working up handloads for it. I handload and the client does'nt so this was a great excuse to get my hands on a new toy for a few months. I have sent you a private message in the past regarding my wish to take my next buff with the .405 so you know how my vote gets cast on that one.

Thanks, tim. I've experimenting with loads at this time myself, half the fun for us gun nuts is working up loads then taking them hunting. So far the rifle has exceeded all my expectations. jorge

What's with your new avatar? Are you now Jodl or Keitel? Neither one flew. If you had chosen Galland, you could have at least had a beauty (or two) on your arm.

Drove Jimmy Carter nuts too.

Classic Pinochet quote:

Questioned by his judges in order to know if, as President, he was the direct head of DINA, he answered: "I don't remember, but it's not true. And if it were true, I don't remember."

Sgt. Schultz would have been proud.

Well I broke the code with handloads. It was a looong road. Used 480gr Hornady DGXs, 94.5gr IMR 4831 and F-215M primers. Shoots the same as factory but no crossover. I had to slow them down approx 30 fps to 2090-2100. jorge
