They were made from schit and of schit tolerances.

For starters..............

OK.....but name a regular production rifle (NOT a semi-custom job like the Kimber, ect) that doesn't fit this description (according to you).

Been a few years since I saw you post regularly......had forgotten what an ass you can be.

Don't recall you at all and I reckon you get that often.

What's [bleep] than transition 70's? Not much.

That should cheer you up............

Most of the older push feed M70's that I see in use out in the boondocks are subject to some pretty harsh conditions, and they continue to do their job with a minimum of maintenance.

If a rifle is completely dependable, even under extreme conditions, and has the ability to shoot less than MOA accuracy after thousands of rounds I don't know what more you could expect or want.

To me a rifle is a tool to accomplish a job, and I am more interested in how it functions over how it looks sitting in a gun case.

But that's just me, and it is obvious that opinions vary...

"Hard use" and Weaver tip-off's,in conjunction with milk jug handles...make for a very funny opinion.

Novel outlook though................

Not kicking you, FC363, but there ain't a whole lot of "well" under a half an inch for three shots. Even a half inch under a half inch is 3 through the exact same hole with ZERO variation. laugh grin

OK, well just to clarify "well under", a .269" group from my .300WM using 70grs of IMR7828 under the Sierra 220gr BTHP, at magazine length no less! I tried seating closer and it hated it. grin

dave, it wasn't how it normally goes with you. i showed him my TARGETS and he wouldn't show me his TARGETS.

Dunno what you guys out there are showing each other...

Stick- trick 81 is holding the rifle still. trick 29 is adjusting the trigger how you like it. and trick 19 is just not being a [bleep] shot to start with. wink

i don't use any others. smile

That is one fine group and indicative of ALL Winchesters. Here's one of mine in 375.

When Winchester brought out the CRF in 1992 under the "Classic" moniker (which is what this 375 is), they once again set the standard for a hunting rifle.

That is a very excellent group.......

I also have a Classic CRF .375 H&H and I agree that they are excellent rifles.

I'll have to take it out in the days and run a few rounds through it..

(I also made a note of your load data... Might have to work up some of those loads and see how they perform in my M70)...

My S/S Classic 300WSM was(is) lightyears ahead of all things transition.

Yet lightyears behind a Montucky...............
