I have a whole seriese of this incident. The odd thing was the wasp completely ignored me, I got close with the 28mm setting on the lens.

Just curious, was it a wasp or a yellow jacket? Jacket's will eat anything, but if it was a wasp, that's a new one.

Still, that's pretty darn cool...

I'm pretty sure it was a wasp. We were chilling in a cabin in the NC mountians on vacation and beer was involved so I could possibly be mistaken.
I'm about 95% sure it was a wasp.
For one thing I really don't like yellow jackets and if it had been one the photo might be titled "squished Yellowjacket".
