Thought I'd share a Howa I picked up off Gun Broker.
Howa LW action, fluted bolt, fluted Broughton barrel @ 24",Cerecoat, and High Tech specialties stock.
The rifle weighs 6 pounds 11 ounces with bases, sans scope and rings.
I'm not sure what the deal with this rifle was. It was advertised as old new stock, as new with barrel broke in and ready for load work up.
I asked the seller for a weight and barrel make. They responded around 9 pounds and that the barrel was a Broughton made specifically for them, whatever that means.
From the pics I thought their weight guesstimate was high.
Seemed like a good price considering the components so I took a chance and grabbed it for $1000- even.
I was pleasantly surprised at the svelte weight and feel this rifle has. The bedding, machine work, and cerecoat all looks top notch.
I loaded up some Nosler 160 gr. Accubonds to 3000 fps and without any COAL tweak she is shooting real well.
Pretty happy so far and this rifle feeds and extracts so smoothly I'm betting even Dober would be satisfied.
