Where can I find some? Are they all the same? Looking for two of the Deluxe sling swivel studs/bases like the ones that are my Model 71 and 64 deluxe rifles. They are attached via two screws, and recessed into the stock for fit. Are these same type used on other models, like the 70?
Thanks.

IME they are difficult to find and expensive when you do. To answer your other question they are the same as used on the super grade 70's. I have managed to find them in old gun shops and some dealers that specialize in Winchester parts. You will also need to get the swivels for them unless you already have them. You may get lucky here on the forum and can also do a search on the internet. Good luck in your search, BD

Blued. I have swivels, and an old sling or two. I have a newer 1886 from Davidson's that could use one, as well as an old Model 94 in 38-55 that could use one as well.
Thanks!

If they are the same as those on the Super Grades why not call Winchester?

Part is not listed on their current lists, but I could call. I don't know anything about Model 70's.

If I understood the OP correctly, He's looking for the originals which are heavier and wider than the post 64 bases and swivels. Hence the higher $$$$$ and difficulty to find.

If there is a difference, and it looks like there is, then yes, I need the older ones.
Thanks.

There is a diffence as I pointed out. I think you would be better served looking for the originals if you are putting them on an older rifle. It would be more in keeping with it. I have been told, though I haven't been able to verify this, that either some of the earlier Springfields or Mausers used the same bases and swivels. At least that was what was mentioned to me a number of years ago. I dont't know if helps but may help you refine your search. Best Regard's BD

They have the Pre 64 Model 70 screws and bases listed. Just to be sure, these are the ones I want, that will match the ones used on my Model 71 and Model 64? Thanks again.

I think they are identical to the originals,I haven't bought any from him as I have originals already, though a call to him will verify one way or the other when you tell them what you have and what you are doing. They are pretty informative and will let you know for sure if they are. BD
