You don't have to kill em but if you gave a user 30 years for simple possession of any amount or a DUI was an automatic 15 years for attempted manslaughter - it would take about 10 guys each before people would figure out it just ain't worth it and stop.

I wish it was that simple, Teal. But I'm sure any LEO who inhabits these boards will tell you that there are those who will drink and drive, with absolutely no regard for the consequences. Same for the druggies. And a whole myriad of other folks who do things we don't approve of.

What you guys are talking about is murder, plain and simple. If you are a true American, you support the Constitutional rights of other Americans, no matter what. You don't, you just DON'T talk about other Americans that way. "Oh, he's a druggie, just cap him."

I really thought at first that Steelhead was being facetious.

I see that I was wrong.

I don't think I want to associate with you guys any more.

The map is very clear.
Where the drugs are made. ANd who has the money to buy them.
And the only way to take the crime out of the loop:
Legalize them.

Third largest federal expenditure.

After military and giveaways to lazy:

"War" on drugs.

Only thing that got killed was the Bill of Rights.

Legalize it. Worked with booze.

It IS a "Legitimate Product" and the refined White Chit is a complete GALAXY removed from raw fresh picked "Mama Coca",......an indigenous sacred herb .

I don't see it as ANY of our business what Andean Folks choose to consume,in it's raw form,..... for any variety of pretty damned good reasons.

They've happily done so since the pre-Columbian era,it's a central part of the culture....and it is emphatically NOT the business of the Bush family,....or any other Yanquis,....as I see it.

Because there is too much $ involved, and I'm not talking about the $ the cartels make. Look into how much $ the federal government and state governments spend in law enforcement, incarceration, and rehab clinics. Unfortunately drug interdiction makes for a large part of the budget of most law enforcement departments, and they have a financial incentive in busting drug dealers and steeling their assetts, to fund the pd's.

Great question, and a really difficult one to answer for those who haven't seen cocaine addicts bake their kids in ovens, kill their own fathers for $10 and prostitute thier 10 year old grandkids for a "bump".

Go do a line off a dead hooker's ass, have a beer and chill the [bleep] out. It'll be clear to you in a bit.

ltp, I understand what you're saying about the desperation of addicts. I also agree that that type of activity would still occur after legalization.

But the fact remains, that addict was easily able to get all the drugs they wanted to get them to that point.

The war on drugs was intended to stop drug importation and use.

It's failed completely.

No argument with that, but is is beyond the comprehension of people that COCAINE specifically can ONLY be grown in a small portion of the world and is ignored for the economic benifit? Columbia (Remember? is our best friend in the "war on drugs" according to Mrs. Clinton.

No argument here, but if they don't give a flying leap about themselves, I surely don't. What's the average life expectancy of a Meth head? Why prolong it.

Not exactly a success.
What Mexico needs is for their young men to return home from the US to clean up their country.

Why do people blame the poor farmers in Columbia who try to make a living growing what others want so much? If I were dirt poor and living down there - and trying to feed my own kids - maybe I'd grow it too.

Why not blame the people who want to use such a drug?

Perhaps no other country needs people from elsewhere to "clean up their country". Cleaning up one's own country might be more in order.

Just a thought...

Agreed, hence the reason we need to move the Mexican border to Washington State.

This ain't about dope heads Brian. They'll always find a way to get high. It' about money and lies. You'd be all over it if it was about the Queen lying about supporting muslim terrorists.
