Its free for up to 250 pictures and they don't display an add within your picture like hunting101 does....as you install each picture you'll be able to view the URL (Internet address of the picture) which you will use within the "image" function in the forum....
when you set up your account you have the option to have all your pictures available for "public view" also if you care to... you just provide your User Name to anyone you send to see your pictures.....
This picture is hosted at photobucket for example....set your pointer on this picture, right-click your mouse and click on Properties. that will open a Window and show you what a URL at photobucket will look like, you will need to expand that little Window to the right to display the entire address....and you'll also notice the posters UserName within the address.....in my case Alaskan. Also you'll see near the end of the address is the picture title, in this case its 08
to expand that Window to the right, place your pointer on the right-hand verticle edge of the window and when your pointer changes to an arrow pointing left-right, press your left mouse button down and hold it and just slide your mouse slightly to the right and the window will expand showing you all of the address...
Alaskan, I just visited your photo album, quite a few pictures (varity too). You didn't happen to get that Herter's bear trap from a guy named "Sketch", in Anchorage a few years ago? (He had one then sold or traded it.
Ironbender, photbucket is a good one. Several years ago I went with imageevent.com, cost is about $25/yr. The main reason was for stability, I tried a couple of free sites earlier on, and they seemed to either go out of business or start limiting photo linking to sites like this (24hourcampfire, etc.).
nope I sure didn't ...I've collected up a few of them.
The days of using them ended in 1951 I believe....must have been something to see....
with the exception of the joke-pic's, a couple that are used as avatars and the crashed submarine pictures, all the others are pictures I've taken...mostly in Alaska...
when you post the pic as an attachment, it gets uploaded to the 24hourcampfire server, and is hosted.
open the attachment, right click, copy the url from properties, and paste it into the image box that pops up when you use ubb code in your post.
or, better yet, edit your post to include the image.

"What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as freedom should not be highly rated." Thomas Paine
when its on 24hourcampfire's server can you link to it from some other site's forum... ? if not, then it wouldn't be similar to a hosting site like photobucket....
