Achildofthesky: I have always admired the 1969 Z28 Camaro!
These cars had smaller engines but high revs!
Sebring Silver with black stripes and of course the four spped tranny!

69 Chevelle would be my choice. I saw one in Indianapolis at the Car Craft Street Machine Nationals in 82 or so. It was called Acupulco Gold and it was very nice:)

Naw, just Adidas sports shorts, the "official" summer uniform of south Okanagan framing carpenters back in the day. When it's 104 out, that's what everyone our age wore on the job back in '80 -'81.

True story here. We were framing on the roof of some condos dressed like that but with a leather framing pouch on as well. A couple of older ladies were walking by the job site and stopped on the sidewalk watching us.

They talked back and forth a bit and then one of them called up and asked either me or my buddy to turn around. I guess they thought we were wearing less than we actually were.

That was back in the days before hard hats, fall protection harnesses and all the gear the framers wear now.

Anyway, you can now see why I was reluctant to post the photo- in case someone got the wrong impression and all. wink

The funny thing is that nowadays after being fried in the Okanagan sun for so many years I try my best to stay out of the summer sun as much as I can. Another sign of aging I guess?

Regards,
Dwayne

I sold mine because my son was way too interested in taking it out on the road!

Good for you!

I have a nephew working in northern Alberta who is a journeyman heavy duty mechanic. It's downright handy to have someone to call and pick their brain when either our Jetta TDI or Cummins needs more TLC than my scope of experience covers.

Again though, good for you for pursuing a trade. I can't say what its like in your part of the world, but up here good diesel mechanics are tough to come by.

Good luck in the rest of your schooling and then in finding a good shop to work in.

Regards,
Dwayne

Back in the 70's in HS there were a lot of guys with nice cars but I had to drive my mom's station wagon!

One of my good friend had a Plymouth Demon 340 with .411 gears and a six pack. That was my favorite back then.

yeah its a pretty good trade for now and the future around here, the biggest problem on my hands right now is trying to decide what major to pick, i have two choices, i could do light duty option,medium/heavy, or heavy equipment diesel technology which includes power units and generators, not really interested in heavy equipment option its between light duty or medium/heavy, i have about 2 months left to decide so i better get serious about making a choice.

hmmmmmmmm.....maybe we should start a car/truck/boat swap meet here. Kind of like a jockey lot. Just a thought.

I love the 69 mustang fastback. The black one was mine then had a brainfart and sold it, one of my regrets! It has a Keith Craft 500 hp 408 stroker, tremec 5sp, rod and custom front end and a lot of other stuff. The blue one is one we built for a customer and has a Fast fuel injection with stacks on a Keith Craft 427 bb, tremec, Martz front and rear suspension and a whole lot more stuff than the black one. It put down 680hp at the rear tire. The last pic I thought was just very cool. The Gulf oil Gt is modified with a bigger blower, pulley tune and exhaust and made over 800hp at the rear tire.

I have a 68 Mustang coupe like the one I had in 1971.
But the 55 chevy belair with a 327 and a powerglide would be nice.
There is something about a small block revving at 6800 RPM that make you want one.

This doesn't have the horsepower muscle I like, but I did get a marriage proposal from a passer by on the street...

Wow, this is a hard question to answer for me. I really don't have "A" favorite muscle car. I like a bunch of different cars.

If I had to pick one, probably a '67 Chevelle SS clone. I say clone because it really wouldn't be worth it for my to buy a real SS, unless the price was very right. I'd be just as happy starting with a Malibu. It'd have a BBC 502, Tremec TKO 600 5 speed transmission and a 12 bolt with 3.55 gears. It'd have a slight rake with the tires in the rear being a little taller and wider then in the front, not to much though. It'd be dark candy apple red, black gut and black vinyl top.

I'd be just as happy with a '68-'72 Pontiac GTO/Lemans/Tempest/T-37, Poncho 460 plus cu. in. engine, Tremec TKO 600, 12 bolt 3.55 gears. Dark green, black gut and a black vinyl top.

My favorite Mopar is a '71 GTX. I like '69-'70 Mustang's. Alway's wanted a '70-'73 Camaro.

Guess I'll have to be happy with my current '78 Camaro, although most won't consider it a muscle car, it is now. It's has a mild SBC 385 stroker motor with Vortec Heads a Lunati hyd. flat tap. cam, TH350 with a 11" Coan 2600 stall converter, 8.5" 10 bolt with 3.42 gears and a Yukon Duragrip posi unit. it's going to be dark green (factory color), black gut and a black vinyl top. wink
