Dumb question...cause I'm still learin' Them 2 holes on each side of the cocking indicator....they supposed to be there? Nice gun nevertheless.

Very nice rifle. I especially like the name plate. It provides really cool yet discrete providence. Not yet had anything like it or anything worth lettering but do enjoy seeing such things.
Is a letter the only way to determine if these older ones were factory D/T?

Dumb question...cause I'm still learin' Them 2 holes on each side of the cocking indicator....they supposed to be there? Nice gun nevertheless. It all depends on where you are in the learning curve. I sent one back that had these holes (it did not have the roll stamping on the side of the receiver). Now, I would have kept it. It was a minty gun

Yep, they are. Was factory drilled and tapped for some type of Williams style bases. It is actually a Belding & Mull Mount. There are two additional holes tapped underneath the rear sight. And yeah it was done at the factory. Blair
