i concur but how often do you get a shot at less than five yards even if it is a spike.

MontanaCreekHunter, that's how I started, around 9 years of age. I now wish I'd never shot a compound bow with sights.
First deer was with a recurve bow at 12 years of age.
Button buck,still my best animal.
To the op,hope to shoot a Z7 soon! Like to hear what others think of it.

I shoot them all, long bow, recurve, and compound. I don't know how often you shoot them at 5 yards but I have yet to shoot one that close. The one in that picture was 22 yards. Last years recurve buck was 12 yards. Furthest I have had to shoot was 34 yards with my compound.

We don't have a rifle season on State land here. I don't have private land to hunt so that leaves me Bow, Muzzle loader, and Shotgun here on State land. But I put all my time and effort into the archery season as it is a pretty long season and I can take 2 bucks and two doe. I do every once and a while get out with the shotgun or muzzle loader but didn't this season.
