..Swamp...I am a "little" confused...

"I'd love to have a 673."....now I am lost...the 673 is a BIG rifle, I think Remington called it The Guide Rifle (not Carbine)...22" barrel, very heavy laminated stock...basically a "standard rifle"..... One of my best friends bought one after shooting my 600... Loves it for stand hunting bear but hates carrying it in the woods still hunting. Carries a 660 .308 that I sold him instead... The 673 with 2.5-8 Leupld is close to 9.5 pounds all loaded up...not exactly a "short light carbine"....

I have one of the Ruger allweather mkII's. A great medium bore rifle, and the only gun my wife's ever bought me. It's topped w/ a leupy 2.5x compact that I had Premier Reticles fit a 4a reticle in. Gotta love a gun that shoots a 1/2" group with your first handload.

I still need to give it a trigger job.

The bottom rifle is a 350 that came to me in a trade; she is a queen but will not ride the bench in the safe; have some 225-gr TSXs coming and will look forward to warming it up. The scope is a 4x S&B in Talley QR with a ghost ring at the front of the rear base. A little heavy for my tastes at 8.5lbs as you see it but so it goes.

It's magazine is 3.15" long so as you can see the 250-gr Horn IL seats out barely taking up the neck of the case--not that such details matter

Found a 7mm-08 just a couple of weeks ago on GB. These are very nice light weight hunters.

One i've done a lot of gunnin' with lately....673 with a 1-3/4 - 6 Luepold. Makes things leak badly....

I like the 660's much better.
A little more barrel length and no goofy rib!

I like the balance of the 600...dispite the "goofy" (sexy) rib....

Goodnews...that is one beautiful rifle. As to the cartridge lengeth, HANLOADER Magazine did an article many years ago with the .350 RM. They found that bullets seated so that the base of the bullet was even at the bottom of the neck is where they got the best accuracy from the rifle... With your longer box this would be perfect..... I have since started loading all my rounds, .223, .308 and others like that when I can and it works...

coalgeo....beautiful gun....it is a lot like the 20" Ruger M77 Compact Magnum Rifle. Wish they would bring that one out in .350 RM...would be just about perfect...

i like the 600 better. i'm big on little, powerful guns even if they are hard on the shoulder, cheek and ears. the 660 is nice too but i like the rib on the 600. i would like the ruger rsi in 350. of course i would also like it in 35 remington and a few others.

Being the rifle looney that I am, I'm always on the lookout for something I can't live without. I may not know that, till I spy it.
Found this the other day. It had been previously enjoyed in a conscientious manner. The previous owner was nice enough to glass bed the action, free float the barrel, install a Sako extractor in the bolt and do a trigger job.
It will be fun to pop Texas piggies with.
May just make it my truck gun.

The later All-Weather mkII M77 350RMs built on the WSM actions were the ticket. I installed a partridge blade front and a ghost ring rear sight. The rifle is short, light, and has a big mag box and proper twist for loading 250s. It was a great rifle to keep in the bottom of the boat or canoe. It would also be a great rifle for a puddle jumper. My hunting partner is now using it as a pack rifle and I can't get it back.

My wife shoots the Model 7 Kevlar in .350 with Speer 250gr. It is the only bullet that her gun shoots well. She's 5 ft 00 and 110 lbs and handles it with ease, also shoots my .450 Ackley. She shot lion, leopard, kudu, eland, and numerous other game ,but used the .450 for cape buffalo. The .35 with a 250gr. bullet at 2500fps hits just as hard as any .375 H&H. I used it on Sharpes Grysbok, stopped it in it's tracks.

Love My Model Seven CDL. What recoil? Don't own a camera.

Just picked up another M7 CustomKS in 350RM. Hope my Custom Shop twins play nice together. Interestingly the bolt knobs differ - one checkered (Oct1990) and one plain (June1991).


I prefer a light gun with thump. Weight is unloaded with iron sights.

Whelen B. - My CDL weighs abought 7-3oz..w/sights. What stock do I need to drop some weight down to that 5.75 LBS.? I've looked @ Brown and McMillan and don't want to pay that kind of price. What else is out there?
