I'll try and take some tonight or tomorrow...this Moose was shot during a August 15-31, 1993 Fannin Sheep hunt in the Yukon... never got a ram... but picked up a Mtn Caribou on day 13 and then this bull on the last day.....and yes both animals were quite the pack...

kcm270---what are you using for a charge with IMR4831 to get to 3276 with the 130? And what about barrel length?
I had one barrel that was a quick one that would do that kind of speed with the 130 but it was a 25" barrel and I could only get there with R22.
You must be using close to 63 or so of it? And what brass, must be Win to get that much in it?
Thx Dober

OU, nice moose.....the only way you could have killed it way better is if the shock of the bullet would have knocked it to a pickup truck.

ou76, Thanks for posting the pic! But, you mean to tell me you have actually hunted with a rifle that has a chrome moly barrel? Most guys around the 'Fire would never dream of doing such a thing! Surely it's all rusted by now...

How long you spose you'll have to go to shoot flatter with the 130?
Thx Doebr I don't know about trajectory but I would bet by 300 yards a 130/140 with a good BC will be over taking it in the velocity department and be hitting with more speed and weight.

At 650 yards the 140 AB @3100 passes up the 110 TTSX @3500fps in velocity according to JBM.

Sounds like the TTSX has a pretty nice BC.

with the 110g Tipped tripple shock, R#17 with a Fed 215 in Win brass in the 270 between 57-58.5g will amaze a lot of folks at the speed and accuracy. My rifle started seeing the slightest pressure signs at 60g, other wise I was neck sizing cases. Shoots as flat as my 22/250 AI.
Your lot# of powder and barrel will be different, so work up to those loads.
