I took a trip to Panama once, for JOTC training. Beyond that, never left the States, and have no plans to do so. I like it here.

I did get to Texas and clipped part of California once, too. I kinda like the Hill Country around San Antonio. California stank, smelled like cat pizz.

To me, 'visiting' usually means hunting, or fishing-

Canada (BC, Alberta)- Stone sheep, birds
Mexico- Fishing, dove hunting
Brazil- Fishing, Paca hunting
Costa Rica- Fishing
England- birds
Scotland- Red stag
New Zealand- Tahr, Chamois, Red stag
Mongolia- Ibex
Spain- Ibex
Namibia- Plains game
South Africa- Plains game

In the US, it's these states:
Colorado
Wyoming
Montana
South Dakota
Nebraska
Kansas
Oklahoma
Texas
New Mexico
Arizona
Alaska
Hawaii
Missouri

I think that's all of 'em and I've flown over several others but they don't count. 21 yrs active duty leads you to lots of places one way or another (duty stations, deployments and port visits,TAD, etc.)

Have lived in the US, Canada and Mexico, and visited 45 states (all but Hawaii, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont), plus nine Canadian provinces or territories. Have been lucky enough to hunt or fish in most of the states visited, and all the places in Canada.

Have visited these countries:

Argentina
Bahamas
Botswana
Czech Republic
Germany (both east and west, shortly after the split)
Ireland
Namibia
New Zealand
Norway
South Africa

Really want to see more of the Northeast U.S. one of these days. The furthest north I've been is the Adirondacks in New York. Had a trip to Maine planned last year that fell through, a big disappointment.

Have a trip to Tanzania scheduled this year, and am working on Australia.

The first time I went to Africa was also the first time I ended up in New York City. One of my sisters and her husband were living in Manhattan at the time, I had a 10-hour layover on the way back home to Montana.

When she opened the door of their apartment, she said, "I bet your glad to be back in the United States!"

I said, "I'm not there yet!"

Mark,

Dog Day Afternoon.

A great line, and probably not a surprise to many New Yorkers.
