This thread has me thinking it might be fun to have a 24hrcf camping and MC riding outing this summer somewhere here in the PNW.

theres a ktm 520exc street legal on craigslist here. my last one was that and it hauld butt. New one is a 520sx with a mxc tranny and the 540 bigbore kit. havnt lost a drag race yet.

might also drop yours down a tooth on the front. might be all you need for the race.

Man ,I looked at just about all currant manufactured bikes and am not finding anything meeting your criteria.Something like an old Honda 305 or 350 Scrambler would be the shiznit.I will keep looking!!!

I hear ya, when we go to dealerships and explian what we are looking for they all lament that thre are no more smaller Dual Sports being made except the Kawasaki KTM250. We have been looking at The Supr Sherpa version of that one and it fills the bill quite nicely. Might go that route. In addition, we found a like new, but slightly used DR200 in CycleTrader and sent a message on it. Wifeys bike was spray canned black over the white plastic parts and has some small dents and scratches on the tank so we are seriously considering buying this new looking one with only 2000 miles on it and changing the sprockets a touch. Don't need MUCH more top end, just another 10MPH or so. A couple of teeth here and there might be just the ticket. Will still be plenty powerful for my little sweetie.

HUNTZ, you just brought back a PILE of memories with talk of the 305 Scrambler! I saw an old Bultaco for sale whilst perusing the used bikes classifieds last night as well. Used to drool all over those when I was a youngster.
