I just bought a very nice Remington 141 in .35 Remington. As my eyes get older I find it very difficult to use open sights effectively for low light hunting, and I definitely want to use this rifle hunting. So, for me that means a low powered scope. This rifle is not drilled and tapped for mounting a scope, but I know there are a slew of them out there that have been. I'll be putting a 1.5-5 Leupold on it, and it looks as if the front base will have to be attached to the barrel. Anyone have any experience with a scoped 141?

Have you considered a peep sight? The rifle is factory D&T and you can still find the sights.
Everything you now do is something you have chosen to do. Some people don't want to believe that. But if you're over age twenty-one, your life is what you're making of it. To change your life, you need to change your priorities.

I have looked around quite a bit and haven't been able to find a peep that would fit in the two factory drilled holes at the back of the reciever. If the price tag of other Marbles tang sights is any indication of the price I might pay for one, no thanks. I did see Marbles offers a rear sight replacement called a Bullseye sight. Basically a peep sight, but mounted where the factory rear sight goes. Anyone ever use one? That may be a possibility. But I know from experience that if I were to put an open sight of any kind on this rifle, it will sit in the gun cabinet come hunting season. I have come to rely on telescopic sights, and that is what I'm comfortable with.

Hi Miguel,
Do you do any business with Hilltop near where you live. He definitely can drill and tap your rifle for anything you want.
