Any ideas or pictures would be great. I have 2 living rooms in my house and one of them never gets used. Its the first thing you see when you walk through my front door and it has 10 foot ceilings. Its a perfect place to hang what few animals I have.

I am looking to display these 3 bucks in the house and would like some ideas. Right now two are on an antique desk in a corner of the room I want to hang them and one is on a couch.

Here is the area I would probably display them

Looking in from the front door...

Here are a couple pictures of the actual wall...

I might have somebody fabricate a tabletop base for them with a lamp so they are noticed. Has anybody ever seen anything like this? I could put them along the wall to the left as you are looking through the front door.

I saw the thread on Trophy Rooms in the Africa forum and thought I would get y'alls input. The rooms there looked great! I dont want to hang a bunch of stuff in my house, just big stuff that will grab attention

Thanks,

Drummond

I am also thinking about moving my antelope back to its original location which is where that antique desk is in the other pics. I dont want it to be in the sun and I always have the blinds open so its not a great place for it where it is now.

Here is is in the corner, I think it looks good here...

Doooooooood, I gotta tell you, I think the holder you've got is skookum..... grin

But seriously, I don't have any Euro deer on plaques, but often use walnut plaques to back african stuff...

And the one euro mule Deer I have is sans plaque..

Can I use her to display mine too? Just kidding -- but great trophies though. All 4 of them.....

I think the euros look better on a angle plaque that is the same angle as a live deer. Not pointed towards the floor.

By the way, the way those mule deer skulls are displayed in your pictures looks outstanding. grin

Simple wall plaque does a decent job:

I like the angled euro plaques myself. Walnut or oak with dark walnut stain.

Sometimes I will make the plaque with a spot at the bottom to attach a picture frame.

Personally, I like the skull cut to remove the teeth, and then mounted on a plaque...

I've not used an angled plaque as yet, but I think something like the ones below look good, and are just a little bit "different"

(I really do think a skull looks better presented as a long nose cut as in the pic below)

Nice plaque. Dark wood makes the skull stand out better.
I like the upper teeth in mine, but have one with lower jaw also.

One of my former students has developed a hanger that mounts the skull on a metal plate with a pin that allows it to be swung in an arc so that you can vary the display angle. If you are interested, PM me and I will see about getting you contact information.

I do it the same as the Germans. Whitetail and roe deer I put skull caps on plaques. Red deer (and would do same with elk) I put piano wire where it is not seen on the back of the skull once hung placed directly on the wall.

I never seen them in person but I think they look good. http://www.skullhooker.com/

I can't remember where I saw it but I think mm.com that a guy took a rustic cedar log/tree and mounted a couple skulls to the different branches of the log. It looked real good.

I don't like the plaques. I think they look better without them but as usual...........YMMV!

Definately not my daughter but shes not my wife yet either.

Thanks for all of the suggestions, I have a few things to look at before I make up my mind.

I have an old fencepost that was rubbed for years by bucks, maybe I'll figure out a way to mount them to that like Jeremy suggested.

I'll post pics when its done

What do you use to display European skulls?

I haven't shot any Europeans, so I guess I'd just mount their skulls on a stick.
