All:
Just got back from a lengthy and hard deployment to Afghanistan. This was not my first deployment to a combat zone, but it still amazes me how great of a country we live in. Nothing makes you love America more than seeing and living in a place like Afghanistan for awhile.
I drove my Dodge truck today to the sun filled beach here in NC with my sons and wife. We ate some shrimp and scallops for dinner, with a tall cold beer afterwards for me. When I used the head, I actually could use hot water and not hand sanitizer to clean my hands afterwards. No sand storms or Taliban. Watched some guys bring in a decent fish from the surf. Morale is off the charts right now.

Glad to see you home safely buddy, and really glad to see you enjoying yourself. For those that don't know it, RAS was our point of contact in Afganistan who so graciously delivered the stuff we gathered for the troops to the right guys. Of course, he's a typical Marine and doesn't want want credit for anything..."just his job" you understand.
