Well it's braid something or other, been a year or two. What ever I have is a beach fishing rig. Will not bring any PVC, looks like you have a lot. I only need one. Hope to leave early Thursday morning and get to camp at a decent hour to set up tent in the light. Not sure how many miles it is From DFW to Corpus, but will be a good drive on I 35 in a Jeep to fight the 18 wheelers. Hate Austin traffic, get lost in SA, but will GPS to Corpus. Will be a good trip.

Do we have stuff like paper/plastic plates, paper towels, utensils, that kind of stuff? Y'know, the stuff usually taken care of by our dear wimmenfolk? wink

It's been a long while since I've rocked the full savage on a long weekend with the boys, but I can do that too.

Thanks to the other fellas who offered to help transport a wayward Yankee, but the unlucky lad who will be my ride is our own Birdie! wink Big thanks to him, though I'm not sure if he is confusing me with some chick. Dude says in a PM to me, "no biggie on driving through the night to get you back to your flight. We can take turns driving, if that's OK by you...." THEN HE WRITES:

"...if you can drive a stick, that is..."

I was like, BODYBLOW! eek mad grin

I hit the tarmac in SA at 11:00 am and change on the TH. By noonish I should be riding shotgun with Birdie, thirsty and con muchas langostas, headed for a quick bite first, then to rendezvous with Roger and anyone else who beat us to the spot and got going getting base camp picked out and whatnot.

Thanks to the others for looking out for me on suggestions/advice on travel and the loaning of gear and everything. Also, for the man with the plan and has done the heavy lifting and making of this thing happen from jump: Roger, hey, thank you man. It means a lot.

i'll bring some as well and trash bags. I'll buy one of them shower bags you fill with water and let the sun warm it up so we'll have something to rinse off with.

Figure on 8-9 hours from DWF to the beach. You know best what time you need to roll to beat the DFW traffic, but I'd guess you'll be hitting Austin in the middle of the day.

I dunno how bad the Austin traffic will be. There's a toll road now you pick up around Round Rock north of Austin and you can take it around town to south of town around Kyle (and Cabela's).

I haven't done it enough to give directions but it weren't hard, if you take it it'll cost about $5 total.

In San Antonio just as well to stay on 35 towards downtown. Only thing remotely complicated is you get off on the right of I35 to pick up I37/281 southbound, and its somehow easy to get the northbound and southbound exits confused since they are right on top of each other.

(If you fail to get off either, and proceed another 150 miles, you'll see a big sign saying "Bienvenidos a Mexico", DONT GO, else you'll end up in Nuevo Laredo, heavy-duty cartel territory eek )

you know one of them crapper chairs like old folks use would be a good idea. i think my mom has one from when she was fighting the cancer. I'll get it from her.crapping on the sand dunes with nothing to lean against can be tricky.
