Just got my "promo" box of .270, 130 grain Interlocks today. And darnit, I guess I'll be keeping them for backup from what folks opinions are of them...that is unless of course someone has a box of 110grain TTSXs they wanna trade...

Have used the 154's (0.284) and 180's (0.308) and like em alot.
In fact, if I can't get Partitions to fly, I try Hornady's. My Ruger UL 30-06 loves the 150 gr over Re 17. That combo will be killing a few deer this fall. If I catch any bullets will post them - don't suspect I will.

Just loaded up a bunch of 130 interlocks for my .270(got 'em for $7 a 100 when GM was remodeling). They shoot good in my CZ, haven't had a chance to try them on game yet, but interlocks have been good in the old 8mm Gibbs(used 170gr & 195gr)
My .270 load is 130gr + 60.2gr 7828ssc(IMR) + cci 250 primer + Fed Brass. Seems to shoot really nice.

Have had only two instances of using them on game. A 140gr 270 and a 165gr 308. Both deer went down to the shot . Both shots were a thru and thru so I can't really say much about weight retention etc. But the results were perfect.

"Best of the CnC" is right. Mule Deer calls them the "poor man's premium" or something like that.
I've always found them to shoot accurately in many calibers - .243, .308, .30-06, .338 WM, .375 H&H, and the .270 Winchester.
Have used the .308 165 and 180 grainers on deer and elk, always got a good expansion and penetration and almost always a pass through.
Have only shot one deer with the 130 Interlocks and a .270. First shot was about 110 yards, broadside, muzzle velocity was 3200 fps. Entered behind shoulder, found classically mushroomed under the skin opposite.
Deer wasn't dead when I got to it so I put another one in the heart from a distance of 6", i.e. impact velocity was 3200 fps. The bullet was a little button of about 70 grains found under the skin on the opposite side, stopped by the hide next to the ground I figure.
But even under that extreme stress the jacket and core stayed together and went through the deer.
Partitions and TSX's and such are nice but I wouldn't feel handicapped if I had to hunt everything with Interlocks.
Gunnery, gunnery, gunnery. Hit the target, all else is twaddle!

I love the hornady interlocks but i have noticed a difference in shape or what looks like the ogive being moved??? The newer ones I just bought have more bearing surface. Am I going crazy, or are these the ones you guys were talking about a while back?????
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Wife, son and I have shot deer with 139 gr 7mm in 7mm-08 and 7x57, 129 gr in .260, and factory load 30-06 150 gr. Never found a .30 or 6.5 and only 1 7mm. That from a factory load 7x57 that hit a mature doe between neck and shoulder facing on and was found sideways against the opposite femur. Shot about 100 yds. Oh, also shot some with a 150 gr in a 270 Weatherby Mag. Bullets are probably still going. When working up a max load with that bullet I stepped out of bro-in-laws garage and fired into an upright crosstie just so we could check the primer, etc. From about 15 ft it went thru on a diagonal and about an inch into the one behind it. I dug the bullet out and I'd guess it was about 50% or so remaining but the jacket didn't separate. Velocity later with that load averaged 3225.

Loaded the 150's in 30-06 for my dad, brother, and myself for several years. Don't know exactly how many Mi. whitetails we shot (25-30), but all wtthout a complaint. We tried Partitions years ago and they worked fine but for our kind of hunting so do the Hornadys. Like my dad used to say how dead can ya kill em? I wouldn't be afraid to hunt anything with the right Hornady for the job. Just my .02 worth.

The 130 Hornady has been my main 270 bullet since I got the rifle in 1972. Would sure hate to start dressing all the deer that I've piled up over the years with that bullet and H4831. Can't remember ever loosing a deer I shot at with that combo, though a couple needed two shots due to misplacement.

I have used them in 25 caliber up to 30 caliber and they have not let me down. The only problem I saw was the 7MM boat tail bullets were a little more explosive than the flat points. But other than that they work fine.

I have always had a high opinion of Interlock bullets - they surely offer everything needed in a bullet used in the southeast.

My experience -
154 gr in a 7x57 is where it's at on Whitetail, Mule deer, Black bear and occasional Elk.
250 gr in a 35 Whelen is where it's at on Elk and Moose.

But other than that they work fine. These are flat based...glad to see all the good stuff being said...I'm really liking the Barnes 110grain..but when I can buy 100 Interlocks for $10 less than 50 TTSXs...well,..... Wonder how the 110 grain Interlocks would work on deer ? hhmmmm

I have killed 7 elk with the 190gr Interlock out of a 300 Win. mag. No complaints, all died very quickly.

I've taken propably 25-30 Whitetails and Mulies, a bunch of hogs, and pronghorn with the 130gr Interlocks.
Its an absolutely fantastic bullet for deer sized game.

They are all good and some of them are the best component bullet for their specific caliber.
