Anyone running a long range rig under 10-11 pounds or so? I thinking of a Rem 700 S/A based build using a McMillan Edge fill stock, Badger M5 bottom metal, and #4-ish barrel in either 6XC or 6.5 Creedmor. If you've got a rig along those lines, pics and details will be appreciated

7 lbs 11 oz M70/300 WSM Talley 3-10 Leo M1 R17 155 Scenar This rig will do pretty much all I need to do to pretty much any range. It shoots lights out and is incredibly user friendly and yet a decent weight for death marches in the mtns. Dober

Oh well, cheaper than trips to Vegas

These pics are the same rifle in slightly different configurations. They are both in the 10-11 lb range (without the bipod). The bipod is about 1 lb. Rem 700 Varmint 308, cut to 20.5". Alloy Badger M4 bottom, Talley LW 30mm, Leupold 3.5-10x40, McM HTG sniper-fill. Same rifle, but Seekins alloy 20 moa base, TPS 1" alloy rings, Leupold 2.5-8x36.

This one's right at your weight range... 6.5 WSM; 27" deep fluted barrel plus brake Mcmillan standard fill HTG Williams BM, Jewell trigger Haven't really gotten to stretch her legs, but she does like the 140Bergers around 3200 fps. Longest kill this past year was 550. This one is really light... GAP nontypical 7 WSM with 24" #3 bbl, Mcmillan edge stock. No problem getting 3300 fps with the 140 AB's. She's around 7 1/2 lbs with the scope, and although more difficult to shoot itty bitty groups due to light weight, I have no problem shooting 3/4 MOA groups at 700 yards. It's an all arounder- a rifle to use both on close range stands, as well as the occasional long range shot

LH Savage 111 action, nutless 26" PacNor #2 in 280AI, Burris 4.5-14 FFII with TacII turret, EGW Picatinny rail, Weaver Tactical Picatinny rings, generic bipod, cheap azz Savage IM stock. 9lbs. 14oz. with bipod. I don't know if the McMillan Classic standard fill I have ordered will reduce the weight any but sub 10lbs works for me.

It's been pushing the 162 Amax down range at just over 3000fps with potential still untapped.
