Why get a donor, the Vanguard is as good if not better. Around $400 and you be there already

That's true but im a 700 guy though.... something about the vanguard just doesn't appeal to me. I've handled a few that shot well just didn't care for em.

Or use the entry level vanguard as a donor and just replace the stock....

That's what id do if I went that route. I honestly would like a totally custom rifle..... all I have is factory shooters in good stocks....

Running the 140 grain bullet. 270 Roy out runs both 7mm Roy andRem mag...... I just want something with more range than my. 270 win's we've got a 1,000 yard range and after 500 my walk around rifles are in way over their heads....

Run a 162 Amax in the 7mm and see what it does Another vote for the 162 A-Max. You should be able to get around 3,000 fps really easy and without stressing things in a 7 Mag. Run those figures thru the JBM calculator and see what it say. You'll like it I guarantee.
