So, if you own an EW in 7mm-08, how does the rifle?
1. cycle rounds 2. shoot - average accuracy 3. fit and finish
and any general comments you have regarding the rifle.
I'm thinking of getting one this month.
thanks

I wish I did, but alas have one in the "tired old 30-06". The action is works like it's on greased ball bearings, it's feeds cartridges like they are greasy sausages, shoots ridiculously well. Trigger is at 3lbs. Finish is very nice. I did put it in an Edge. It immediately became a go to, shoot anything into tiny groups, marvelous rifle. Wouldn't sell or trade it for anything. The new FNs are fine rifles. Buy it would be my recommendation. Then again, what do I know, it is a tired old 30-06.............

Of the M70s offered, a SS EW in 7/08 would be a top pick and in an edge as Karnis advised.....topped in Talley, Gentry, Conetrol, or S&K rings and a trim light Leupold 6x or 2.5-8x....possibly a 3-10x40 CDS Vx3.

I own 2 a 270 in a edge and a 308. Both rifles are great I have really not heard of any complaints. Let us know how she shoots.
If there is any proof of a man in a hunt it is not whether he killed a deer or elk but how he hunted it.

Darn-near went home with it! Beautiful rifles! My huckleberry is still an EW in .338 Federal. If/when they ever come out with one, I will buy it!

What could be a sadder way to end a life than to die having never hunted with great dogs, good friends and your family?

thanks I have a 270WSM with a Conquest 3x9, Leupold DD bases and Burris Signature rings and love it, it cycles fine, the finish is good and the accuracy beyond my expectations. I wanted a 260 so picked up a second in 308 that I will send to PacNor for a rebarrel matching the factory contour and fluting. It will be scoped exactly the same as the 270WSM. Some folks believe the B&C Medalist is too thick in the grip and too heavy but I like it and think the EW is one of the best deals on the market.

I handled one earlier this year as it was on my short list. For me, I found the package kind of clunky, more suitable to range work or shooting off a bipod than stalking through the timber and quick shooting situations. I ended up with a stainless fwt in 7-08, a nice handling package for me.

I don't really care for the package of the EW. I purchased a .270 stainless featherweight and eventually plan to slide it into a blind magazine edge for a real light package. Topped it with swarovski Z3 3.5x10x42 in S&K rings. Sweet little package just like it is.
I think it has a smaller barrel profile and better balance and I believe I read where action and barrel on the stainless featherweight are lighter than the same on the EW.
I also have a sporter in 300 win. Love the new SC rifles.

Hot soup, I bought one a few weeks ago from East County Guns. Great folks to deal with BTW, I love it. I love the stock, some don't, fit and finish are great, feeds fine. I mounted my Nightforce 2.5-10X32 zero stop in Talley Fixed mounts. It showed great promise first time out to the range. I weighed the trigger many times and it broke super crisp, no take up, no over travel @ 3.5#. While shooting it, the 3.5# pull was just too heavy.....for me. I haved two Jewell and a Rifle Basix trigger on my other rifles, all set at 1.5#....again....I like it....not good for everyone. The narrow forend tends to "roll" in my front rest, between the trigger and the rollie forend rest, I would pull about every shot. I'm taking it tomorrow to my gunsmith. He says he makes a special spring for the MOA trigger and can get it safely to 2#'s. I may try this or just have him put a Jewell in it $250.00 installed. The only "problem" I had was after mounted, I ran out of windage adjustments. I did not try to re-mount in the Talleys. That was probably what caused it. I am going to have the gunsmith check the mounting holes for straightness. I sold the Talleys and bought a Nightforce rail and a set of Nightforce ultralight rings. It will be a few weeks or more till I get the trigger in. I will report back then. I have only shot some 140gr Nosler Ballistic tips over Varget, looked pretty good. Here is the rifle,
