Correct. If we control Congress alone, there is little they can do to halt a radical SCOTUS appointment.

Even controlling the Senate by a slim margin only means you might halt a truly extreme one. Time is always on the side of the POTUS who will keep throwing up socialists and sooner or later the Senate will have to approve one.

Controlling the White House is of utmost importance. You can veto any legislation (barring an override) and you actually control who you appoint.

Is there a glitch in the Matrix or is this deja vu all over again?

I think that ticket to be stronger that McCain/Palin. Bachman is a better candidate than Palin and just as good looking, and Romney doesn't come across as desperate for the job as McCain did.

Because she speaks like someone with an 8th grade education just like Palin. Both of them do very well when they can prepare their speech and deliver it to a friendly audience. But put them in a debate setting or in front of a hostile media reporter, and they both get tongue tied, use broken grammar and stumble through an answer. Unless of course they anticipate a particular question and can prepare a canned response. But then it sounds obviously staged.

Agreed in Palin's case, not seeing a problem with Bachman at all.

I was specifically addressing her performance in that one debate. Naturally, anyone would be nervous in that setting the first time around. I give her the benefit of the doubt because of that. Next couple debates will be very telling as to whether she can shake of those initial jitters and present herself and her answers more naturally. I hope she does.

Not hard to see. Just look at all who voted for McPlain and now are doing a Judas on him.

You do realize that I can see Russia was a line from an actress and not Palin. Slow, gullible liberals have been repeating it since- out of ignorance.

Bachmann at least BELIEVES what she says & is committed to her ideals...Romney's as transparent as a cup of hot air...

This election cycle so far, is shaping up a lot like 2008. I'm unimpressed.

You give up too easy. Has your whole life been like this? Obama isn't getting any better and neither is the country or the economy. No that little turd licker is done.

Well you will be more unimpressed if the Warlord wins another term! The USA will fail to exist if he gets another term. I fully expect more entrants into the race giving us the opportunity to research and hear each one explain their viewpoints. Competition is a good thing.

The Outlaw Patriot is biased, witness his tag line. You mean to tell me Obama hasn't mis-quoted stuff? The reality is the media suppresses his gaffs and highlights those of any republicans. Bachmann is more sincere than Romney but I'll vote for a tree frog before the Warlord.

No one republican will be "perfect". We just have to support the most dedicated conservative to victory.

I don't think Romney can dethrone him... frown Didn't the GOP learn ANYTHING in the last election??? This crap really tics me off...96-98% of blacks are gonna vote for OBAMA simply because of race...He's also got a huge majority of the latino vote wrapped up...throw out another RINO like Romney & the results are gonna be the same as 08...YOU & I may not like it, but that's what WILL happen...
The TPP movement was started because of this very issue...

I don't get the Michele Bachmann craze. She's just another do-nothing politician. I'm happy to have her vote in the House, but she hasn't authored a bill in nine years. Bachmann's legislative high point is a resolution designating September "National Hydrocephalus Awareness Month".

Bachmann is a spokeswoman, not a President.
