Great trip Tom. Got back Saturday afternoon. Panfish bite was fantastic. Lots of gills and a few Crappies. Walleye fishing just plain sucked. Locals tell us us the Walleyes are way down this year. Did ok on Bass and Pike.
Happy belated birthday to you and Jack.

Any musky follows Bill? I don't plan on the walleye fishng being real good. It hasn't been for a few years now. I have a feeling the bass are getting their share of the young.
Good news on the panfish, Ma will be happy.
I do plan to hit the pike and musky a bit harder than I usually do. I'm a bit better equiped this year. BIL is going to join the fun too and started getting himself the gear.
We started to pack and get the bags of goodies ready. We're in charge of lunches.

He had one make a pass at his bucktail and another follow. My son saw one swim by the boat. Pastikas is still the cheapest on leaches, $15 a pound for mediums.

Happy birfday guys (a little late) and Happy Fathers Day (also a little late) to all the fathers out there. My kids surprised me with breakfast in bed (okay, it wasnt much of a surprise...), but it was nice.
As I type this, they are forming the driveway! However, with 3 days of rain in the forecast, the pour wont happen for a few days.
ND, the fishing was....hot and cold. Some days we beat them up, some days we got beat up. all in all, it was fun to be out and the other half of our contingent (Uncle Randy, Cuzin Shane and Cuzin Jon) were there this year after not going last year because of Cole's illness. the fact they were there was fantastic. Oh, and Randy ate a piece of rancid, rotten, horrible cake and proclaimed it good....until his taste buds processed the rancid part...and then the rest of us belly laughed for a long time. I cant even type this without smiling!
By the way, Cole is doing well and attending a basketball camp this week.

That is chep on the leaches. I have a 1/2 pound left from Mille Lacs a while ago. Driving into Pastika's is a hike, but they ususlly give you the best fishig reports. The grumpy bastard on the corner of CC/B I have found doesn't give a reliable report. I don't go there unless I have to. He tried to argue with me and my BIL that there are no LMB on the East side of the Chip. They're all on the west side he said. That was about 5 years ago. We were pulling some BIG large mouths out too. So it wasn't like they were small, young fish.
